A word from the Chaplain:
This Month our Nation will celebrate Thanksgiving. Some will refer to it as turkey day. Personally I have a problem with that. As this is a day set aside for the specific purpose for the giving of thanks to God.
Scripture teaches us that that giving thanks is very important to God. In Luke chapter 11 we find the story of Jesus healing 10 lepers. This story tells us that only one leper returned to Jesus and thanked Him for healing him of that horrid disease.
Think of it, only one said “Thank You”. Jesus questioned, were there not ten who were healed? Where were the other nine???
Giving thanks mattered to Jesus!!!
I pray we will each be like that one leper who gave thanks. God is good to each of us in so many ways. How many are the blessings from God in our lives. Our health, our family, our Country, our job, our ability to work or serve, the food for our table, the roof over our head. The list goes on and on, and it is God who is our provider. So let us stop this week, and give thanks to God from whom all our Blessings flow.
Let these Words from Scripture guide you this week and every day;
O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endures for ever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!!!!!
Oh that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
So let each of us stop and remember the goodness of God and give Him thanks for His kindness. For our God is good to us!!!
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving my friends.
